Cookie Policy

1. The short version

GANK sets exactly one cookie, and it is the one that keeps you signed in. We set no analytics cookies, no marketing cookies, and no third-party trackers, so there is no advertising network watching what you do here.

2. Essential cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you logged in. These are required for the site to work and cannot be switched off.

It holds a signed token identifying your account — not your password, and nothing about your play history. It lasts up to 30 days, after which you sign in again. Signing out clears it immediately.

If you block this one cookie, you can still read the public pages, but signing in will not work: without it the site has no way to recognise you between two clicks.

3. Non-essential cookies

We don't currently set any analytics, marketing or tracking cookies. The cookie banner lets you separately switch on "analytics" and "marketing" categories for the future — your choice is saved in your browser so we can honour it the moment we do turn one on — but as of today accepting them does not set any additional cookie, because nothing reads that choice yet.

Accepting everything therefore changes nothing today. We have kept the choice visible rather than hiding it, so that if we ever do switch a category on, it starts from a preference you actually set instead of a silent default.

4. Your consent choice is not itself a cookie

What you pick in the banner is stored in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie. It stays on your device and is never sent to us with your requests.

One practical consequence: clearing site data, or opening the site in a private window or a different browser, brings the banner back, because the record of your earlier choice lived only on that device.

5. Managing cookies

Use the cookie banner to accept or decline, or open Manage Cookies at any time to change your choice. You can also clear cookies in your browser settings.

Every browser also lets you block or delete cookies for a single site. Doing that here signs you out, and the site will behave as though you are a new visitor.

6. Changes

If we change how we use cookies, we will update this page and the effective date above.

If we ever begin setting a cookie in a category you declined, we will ask again rather than rely on a consent you gave before that category did anything. Questions are welcome at support@gank.studio.
